AESTHESTICS FROM THE STREET

"Our only real handicaps are those mental and emotional ones that
prevent us from participating fully in life" ...John Foppe.
OFF THE STREET is a healing art of the UNN graduate artist, 'Lanre
Tejuosho. He is opening a new chapter in the Art, his new media are
the used cans, pure water sachets, and all manner of rubbish littered
our streets, in our dustbin or garbage disposals. His new art
challenges our thinking, the common sense. It takes us to a realm of
creativity devoid of sentiments and erodes our scepticism, placing us
on the perspective of hope. Things don't seem the way we perceive
them, there is good in all of us, even the ones we considered the
'garbage' in our society.
Lanre believes there is a rainbow for every tears, breakthrough to all
life's odd experiences. He explore beyond what we all see at the
surface, he delve further into the depth to find the core solution and
to revive what we considered as useless, waste, rubbish, garbage etc.
He takes all our rubbishs, be it human or man made off the street,
re-cycled and refined it. He gives our garbages a new life, his Art as
a vehicle of THERAPY and HEALING.
